China and Finland confirmed the establishment of a future-oriented new-type cooperative partnership in a joint declaration issued on Wednesday during Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to the Nordic country. Hailing the progress China and Finland have made in bilateral relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1950, the document said the two countries agreed to further enhancing political mutual trust and expanding and deepening cooperation to the benefit of the two peoples. The future-oriented new-type cooperative partnership between China and Finland is complementary to the China-European Union (EU) comprehensive strategic partnership, it said. Finland appreciates China's initiative to build the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, and supports China and the EU in promoting connectivity between Asia and Europe, building a grand Asia-Europe market and boosting the flow of people, business, capital, technology, as well as information and communication between the two continents. The two countries agreed to maintain high-level exchanges between the two sides to enhance mutual understanding and trust, it said. According to the declaration, the two sides will continue to broaden and deepen pragmatic cooperation in such areas as two-way trade and investment, innovation, environmental protection and urbanization. China and Finland are committed to deepening exchanges and cooperation on innovation to make it an important engine of sustainable economic and social development of the two countries, and will further promote cooperation on high-level scientific research and innovation in areas of mutual interest. The document said people-to-people contacts and cultural exchanges are an important part of bilateral relationship and are of great importance for its long-term development. China and Finland are ready to enhance people-to-people exchanges in education, research and innovation cooperation. The two sides will deepen cooperation in new-type urbanization and green ecological smart city construction, focusing on sustainable city planning and construction technology, urban adaptation to climate change, energy efficiency of buildings and green building technology, and green construction materials. China and Finland are committed to working together to reduce or limit greenhouse gas emissions, promote sustainable development and strengthen climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts. The declaration said China and Finland shared the view that economic activities in the Arctic area should take into full consideration the protection and sustainable use of its natural resources, given the vulnerability of the Arctic environment. China and Finland agreed to further tourism cooperation, support the collaboration of national tourism organizations, and promote the development of related industries in order to enhance the scale of two-way visits. The two countries expressed their commitment to the further promotion of exchanges and cooperation in the field of sport. Taking the opportunity of Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, China and Finland will promote the exchanges in winter sports and the cooperation in organizing the Olympic Games, it said. The declaration also touched upon cooperation in forestry, agriculture, transport, and information and communication technology. The Chinese president arrived in the Finnish capital of Helsinki on Tuesday for a state visit, the first by a Chinese head of state to the Nordic country in 22 years. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20170406/8047180.shtml#!language=1 Subscribe us on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/CCTVPlus CCTV+ official website: http://www.cctvplus.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cctv-news-content Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NewsContent.CCTVPLUS Twitter: https://twitter.com/CCTV_Plus

Helsinki, the capital of Finland, is one of Northern Europe’s cosy and tranquil capitals. Where is Finland? It is a Baltic state, although geographically part of the Scandinavian Peninsula, with a language that’s related to both Estonian and Hungarian. More information about the video content bellow: 1. In Finland, traffic violation fines are based on the drivers’ incomes. In 2002, a Nokia executive was fined $103,000 for going 45 in a 30 zone. Another person was given 60,000$ for going 65 in a 50 zone. They know how to make people slow down over there. 2. Finns are the people with the highest consumption of coffee in the world, at 12 kilos per person per year. Across all age demographics, an impressive 14% of men and 6% of women reported consuming more than 10 cups of coffee per day! 3. Finns are the unquestioned champions of sauna!Think about it: 3.3 million saunas for 5.3 million people. More than one sauna for every other citizen. There are saunas everywhere in Finland: Every newer apartment is equipped with a sauna, all hotels, gyms and office buildings have them. 4. Finland has the most heavy metal bands per capita in the world. While Sweden and Norway have only 27 heavy metal bands per 100.000 inhabitants, Finland boasts double as much, 54 bands per 100.000. 5. Finlands educational system is the best in the world. It’s a system that goes against the evaluation-driven, centralized model that much of the Western world uses. They rarely take exams or do homework until they are well into their teens. The children are not measured at all for the first six years of their education. As a result the difference between weakest and strongest students is the smallest in the World. 6. 10 per cent of Finland is missing. Soviet soldiers invaded Finland during the Second World War. The Nordic country later struck back with a controversial ‘co-belligerency pact’ with Nazi Germany, in which the nations were not allies, but agreed to be fighting the same foe.The Finns fought the Soviet Union to a standstill on the border, but had to cede 10 per cent of their eastern territory, including the second largest city, Vyborg. Post-war Finland had to cope with the resettlement of hundreds of thousands of refugees from the lost lands. Finnish remained an official language of the Republic of Karelia (the Russian state that includes much of the lost land) until the 1980s. 7. The Finns invented the Molotov cocktail. At the onset of the Second World War, Stalin demanded to use Finnish territory for strategic purposes – he ordered that the Hanko Peninsula would serve as port for the Soviet Navy. The Finns refused, however, and Vyacheslav Molotov, the Soviet foreign minister, declared that it was ‘time for the soldiers’ to do the talking. Some 65 men, women and children died in the first bombing raid on Helsinki, while Molotov snidely remarked that Soviet aircraft were only dropping ‘food parcels’. Later in the war, Finnish troops returned the insult by hurling ‘Molotov cocktails’ at Soviet tanks. Here are 10 things that the people of Finland do better than Americans. Finland is widely known for its modern sensibilities and fabulous views of the Northern Lights, but the nation has many other attributes as well. Here are 10 things the people of Finland do better than Americans.  Number 10. Education. While US schools are often criticized for underperforming, those in Finland are lauded for their continued excellence. The nation boasts some of the world’s highest test scores and is consistently ranked amongst the best educational systems on the planet.  Number 9. Handle awkward silences. Finns don't always have the perfect thing to say when conversations lapse, but that's okay. Long pauses during talks are deemed as being perfectly acceptable. Saying something just for the sake of speaking, however, is not.  Number 8. Women’s equality in the workplace. According to The Economist’s glass ceiling index, Finland is at the top worldwide.  Matters such as maternity rights, pay, and representation in high-ranking positions were considered while compiling the list. Number 7. Dispose of nuclear waste. Not only has Finland actually devised a plan for nuclear discard, the country is building a refuse bunker that will keep the radioactive matter safely contained for at least 100 thousand years. Number 6. Ensure that newborns thrive. The Nordic nation has the world’s lowest infant mortality rate. Conversely, among the 28 wealthy nations ranked by the Centers For Disease Control, the US has the highest.  Number 5. Stay out of prison. In the United States, nearly 700 of every 100 thousand citizens are locked up. Incarcerated residents of Finland account for only 55 per 100 thousand. Some of them even get to live in ‘open’ systems where they can attend college classes, go on fishing trips, and head into town to buy groceries.  Number 4. Embrace Heavy Metal. Finland has more metal bands per capita than anywhere in the world. The country’s count is about double that of runners up Sweden and Norway, and roughly 10 times greater than the ratio in the US.  Number 3. Saunas. There are approximately 5.3 million people in Finland, and an estimated 3.3 million saunas. They're so engrained in the culture, they can be found in government offices, factories, and even sporting arenas.  Number 2. Keep corruption out of government. In Transparency International’s recent rankings of corrupt governments, Finland's was ranked amongst the three least so. The US came in at 19th.  Number 1. Live longer. On average, the men of Finland can expect to live until the age of 78, and women until 84. Americans lives aren’t significantly shorter, but US males and females generally live for 2 to 3 years less than their Finnish counterparts.  What’s your favorite thing about the country of Finland?
